Jackson Ends Holdout-Peters Next?

Rams running back Steven Jackson ended his holdout Wednesday. Why should Bills fans care? Jackson has the same agent, Eugene Parker, as Bills holdout Jason Peters. No details regarding Jackson's case have come out, but the Associated Press reported that Jackson's return comes while Parker continues to negotiate a new contract. Parker has been playing hardball with the Bills, at times not even returning their phone calls. Maybe the Jackson case illustrates a softening in Parker's tactics. I don't know that I ever thought that Peters would take his holdout into the regular season, and forfeit weekly game checks of over $200,000 dollars. If he reports this week, or ever next, that should give Peters roughly two weeks to get ready, and that should be enough. Linemate Derrick Dockery told me that he expects Peters to be in shape and ready to play the minute he arrives. Maybe that minute is lot closer that we thought it was yesterday.

Buffalo Bronze

Buffalo's Steve Coppola will come back home with a bronze medal. The
Canisius HS grad was a member of the U.S.A.'s men's eight rowing team.
They finished just behind Canada and Great Britain in Beijing. Coppola is the first rower from the famed West Side Rowing Club to win an Olympic medal. His parents were among those at the club on Sunday watching a replay of the race. Mimi Coppola said Steve called them just after receiving his medal, and vowed to keep working for a gold medal in 2012.
Fellow West Side rower Tom Terhaar is the coach of the USA Women's eight. He led them to a gold medal.
