DiGiorgio Out for the Season

The Associated Press, citing the player's agent, says Bills linebacker John DiGiorgio will have season-ending knee surgery next week. The injury happened while the backup linebacker was blocking on a Roscoe Parrish punt return. It leaves the Bills pretty thin behind starting 'backers Posluszny, Mitchell and Ellison. DiGiorgio was the main backup at both the middle and outside positions. Now, the Bills have only Jon Corto and Blake Costanzo. Neither of those players have much experience playing on every down. The only practice squad linebacker is rookie Marcus Buggs. Remember, Angelo Crowell and Alvin Bowen are both already out for the season with knee injuries. We'll update on Wednesday to see if the Bills bring in a veteran. I would expect that, just so they can have some piece of mind should something happen to one of the starters.
