Sabres Revive Playoff Hopes

They can start by thanking the Flyers who lost in overtime to the Bruins today. By only picking up 1 point, the Sabres have now moved within a point of the 8th and final playoff spot. The Sabres managed to pick up back to back wins, when they beat Toronto 6-2 tonight. It was a huge victory that not only has them on the doorstep of the playoffs. It's exactly what the young players on the team needed to boost their confidence. As a fan, I have a little belief left in me that they can make it. Part of that, is I don't think the Flyers can hold on for much longer. The other part of me feels like Toronto's run is over, and Florida is not good enough. I do think the Caps will give the Sabres a run for the 8th spot. As a professional, I don't think the Sabres can do their part to make the playoffs. They are too inconsistent, and I worry about the young defenseman. I know they've played well over the weekend, but the reality is... they will likely have their share of costly mistakes. There is now 9 games left, starting with Tampa at home on Wednesday night. Philly has 10 games left. They're in Pittsburgh tomorrow with a 3:00 start.
