Sabres Stat of the Day

Thomas Vanek's 2nd period goal in Florida came on the power play. That breaks an 0-36 road power play streak. The Sabres hadn't scored a power play goal on the road since December 22 at Philadelphia. On the season, the Sabres road power play is 14/120...among the worst in the NHL.

well since every1 says the sports blog is dead i am going to be the first to say something...i am a HUGE sabres fan and even though this year started out slow, i am liking what i am seeing more. miller overall has been PHEMONEMAL and is the sole reason why the sabres had that 8-0-2 streak. i am also very pleased that vanek is turning around finally. all year fans were waiting for him to do something and now he has had 2 hat tricks in the past few games including a game winning goal last night in overtime against the lightning. he really has a keen sense as to where to be and how to get goals in and i think he feels a little less pressured. another big game tonight against the toronto maple leafs, thats going to be tremendous and it has to be a win. miller needs to remain solid, and there has to be contribution from all lines. looks like the line shake up helped in some ways, but it did make the game a little too close last night.

and the thing about the powerplay is that it is finally turning around for them. they are among the top 10 in both power play and penalty kill, and you can bet connolly was a spark that ignited their special teams. hope he continues to feel better. news 4 sports crew, do u guys have any timeline for finny? speaking of which, every1 says he is going to get traded, but i havent heard such news. can u clarify? i dont want to see him wearing any other jersey but a sabres one and even though he has had a tough year, every1 does. hes only human, geez, give the man a break. :)

WHOA!!! A 5-1 WIN PUTS THE SABRES IN 6TH PLACE!!! AS LONG AS THE BRUINS LOSE TONIGHT...LETS HOPE. wow vanek rly is on a hot streak lately 2 points this game one of them an assist that set up the beautiful roy goal that was on the power play. i think they were 2 for 4 tonight which is a continued sign of the powerplay becoming better, even with connolly out tonight. the leafs just could not find the back of the net tonight as they continue their downward trend. hoping the sabres continue going up in the eastern conference standings!!! GO SABRES!! :)
